"Is It Hot In The U.S., Cold, Or This Farenheit Deal?" -Leonardo

This P-Day flew by today, just like our week, so I'm going to have to make this email short and sweet, but that's probably better anyway.

First things first, we baptized Valderes and Pedro! They're both studmuffins and it was pretty great how we were after to find, teach, and baptize the two of them.

I think I said this in my email prior, but Valderes truly is an elect of the Lord; he had been looking into the Church for years and felt this past Sunday that he wanted us to stop by his house to share a lesson with him. We told him about the sacrament meeting at 4 pm and he said that he'd go. He went, we shared a message with him afterward, and he accepted a baptismal date for this past Saturday. We taught him every day in the chapel this past week (something that I haven't done since we taught Christ in Lehi, UT... yeah, the first and second week of my time here in the mission field) and it was truly an incredibly spiritual experience. He came into the lessons already with a testimony, so we just explained that we would help him grow that testimony. He was so receptive to everything that we taught and was incredibly prepared for his incredibly spiritual baptismal service on Saturday. This guy is another true friend I have made down here. When he asked me if I could baptize him I accepted in a heartbeat.

Side note I wanted to add...

There is something very important I want us all to remember about our testimonies, no matter what aspect of the Gospel of Jesus Christ they pertain: if they're not increasing and becoming stronger, they're decreasing and becoming weaker. There is no such thing as a "stagnant" testimony, or one that neither grows nor shrinks. As the influences of the world become continually stronger, we must always be doing everything in our power to grow those testimonies that we have been given.

Pedro we found while delivering printed baptismal invitations to the friends of Bruno, Fabiano, and Yonnara before their baptism. You might have recognized him from their baptismal photo last week. He's another studmuffin that's going to see so many blessing from the Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ. He prayed to know if the Book of Mormon and the other messages that we shared were true to which he received an answer from the Holy Ghost. Boy how I love that gift.

Thanks for the prayers on behalf of Bruno. I'll attach some photos down below for those who aren't too schwimish (is that how you spell that)? The ward was incredible after the accident and did so much to help out with visits and even helping provide medicine. Luckily there were no broken bones, so the recovery should be relatively quick!

Love you all so much and hope you all had and will have a great week! If it's been a while since you last talked to me, be sure to send a quick email just so I know that you're still alive. Like I always say, even if I don't always respond, I do always read.

p.p.ps The companions of elder lindsey love you all, but would love you more if yall sent us beef jerky. Make sure somebody is preparing his farmers only account, spice it up a little, help him get hitched asap. He is a stud muffin, swagblaster, and unfortunately, has gained a little weight and is only a little chubby. but seriously, send beef jerky and peanut butter, his american companion (me, elder hurst the guy writing this together with the other american elder eggett are dying here in brazil). Love you all, keep up the support.-Elderes Hurst and Eggett
