"He'll Drown Me" -Matheus

Another week in the books here in the "East Zone" (Zona Leste) of Teresina, Brazil!

This week, as always, I will start with the highlight of our week: the folks we were able to help be baptized!

This week we were able to help two more folks enter the waters of baptism, and like I said in my last email, they were both baptized by one of their family members! Antônia was baptized by her grandson who she raised (and who was baptized last April). That was a pretty special baptismal service because we asked the bishop's wife to share a message about baptism and it turns out that she had a very similar conversion story; her son was baptized, she came to visit a while later, felt the Spirit from the moment she first visited, and after a few weeks decided to be baptized too!

She had a wonderful experience and told us how much she loved it all afterward. So so grateful to have played a part in that.

Matheus was baptized yesterday as well! We were talking to a friend of ours, Cecilia, who told us about a friend of hers: Ronielson. He had been baptized about 5 years ago but hadn't been going to church all that often recently. We shared a message with them, asked them if they'd be interested in coming back (and if Matheus would be interested in being a baptized member, to which he replied "yes"). He went to seminary everyday last week, church yesterday, and is planning on going strong! His other brother, Nadson, said he wasn't ready to be baptized yesterday, but we'll keep working with him and preparing to help him feel prepared. If you would, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

We had 5 folks visit the sacrament meeting yesterday! All of which are wanting to be baptized this next week! They come from 3 separate families and they all have different stories!

I had talked to Bruno, Fabiano, and Ionara in February the first time that I passed through the area, and I honestly don't even remember why we didn't end up teaching them. They are good friends with a member of the church, had already gone to a few church activities, and loved it! We are going to help these three be baptized this Sunday, keep teaching their parents, and eventually try to help them get married and baptized as well!

Anderson also visited yesterday and is good friends with Joyce, another friend of ours. After feeling the Holy Spirit super strong during a message, he accepted our baptismal invitation, went to a church activity during the week, church yesterday, and is super excited to be baptized this weekend!

Antônio also came yesterday! He has been able to avoid smoking and drinking these past few days, and we'll do everything in our power to make this Saturday the day that he is finally able to follow the Savior and be baptized like Him!

We are seeing some good things happening here and are hoping that we are able to keep 'em going that way. Please keep all of those folks in your prayers and shoot me an email when you get the chance!

Take care y'all and have a great week! We'll see you here in a bit!
