"It Only Stays This Hot In September, October, November....." -Bishop Oliveira

Well hey there,

Como vai pessoal?

Not a lot to report here from the part of the Lord's Vineyard here in Teresina, Brazil. It was a week of hard work, fechou.

While we were unfortunately unable to help anybody here in the area enter the waters of baptism, we are teaching several folks who are headed in that direction. We had some folks visit the church yesterday and are planning on helping a friend of ours - Antonio - and his son - Samuel - make that decision this Saturday.

That is just going to have to require a lot of praying on our part! He is an alcoholic who has been working on living the Word of Wisdom and stopped drinking once we started teaching him a few weeks back. He also has a nicotine addiction that we are trying to help him out with. He is really wanting to be baptized this Saturday, but in order to do that, he will need to get through this week without smoking even one cigarette. We all did a fast yesterday and are now praying, hoping, and praying some more that he'll be able to get 'er done.

If you could all keep that in your prayers this week, we'd all appreciate it a lot!

Another fun little novidade: we are having a transfer today! I will be staying here in the area, but Elder Makeisen will be leaving for a city in Maranhão called Caxias. I will be staying here taking care of the Uruguai, Taquari, and Cidade Leste Wards with a new trainee. Yes, you heard right, I will be training again. My third trainee in four transfers.

We are officially entering the summer here in Teresina (I can't remember what the word is that they use here, but that's what we're entering). Be ready to see some sweaty, sunburnt, pictures from my end of things. And for those of you who are entering the fall, appreciate those 50s and 60s, because here we're going to be getting up to about 110-115 daily.

"Count your blessings, name them one by one..."

Sure love all of you! Hope all of y'all are doing well! I'll get some pictures out here in a bit.

Oh, by the way, I had to get a toe surgery because I cut the nail wrong and had a 2 cm spear growing into the side of my big toe, so that was also pretty interesting.

Let me know how you're doing! Remember that I love you and God loves you too!

Tchau,
Élder Lindsay
