7 Days Of Déjà Vu
Bomest of dias pessoal,
What to say about this week....
I don't even know.
Needless to say, it was "corrida" (basically means busy, more literally means "runned").
For starters, here's our new buddy Jhonnata. The previous missionaries had been teaching him and we were fortunate enough to be able to help him enter the waters of baptism Saturday and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost on Sunday.
Besides that, we've been doing our best to get our heads around the area. We were both group leaders in little cities with groups of roughly 20-30 people. Now, we are taking care of 3 wards, which in total adds up to roughly 150 (for now).
Even though I had already passed through the area before, I had very little time here in Brazil and never really knew what was going on. Now, while we are both senior companions, as I have more time in the mission and already spent some time here, I am technically leading the area.
Something else interesting that I put down below: I am now the district leader of the assistants to the mission president. That basically means I'll be responsible for the spiritual well-being of two of the mission's primary leaders. That'll be interesting, but I excited for the learning experience that it will be.
It's kind of funny going through the same area two times. I'll be walking down the street, look at a house, and think "wait, I know who lives there!" In church yesterday, I saw a ton of people that I had met when I passed though here.
Still trying to get used to the different approach to the work we'll have to take here, but with faith and work I'm sure we'll be able to have a good result!
Not the longest of emails today, but wanted to give yall an update.
