"It's Futeból, Not Basquete Rapaz" - Irmã Renata
Quick week!
Unfortunately not a whole lot to report about this week from my end. Did a lot of running around the city, a lot of teaching, and ended up finding out that almost everyone didn't want anything.
Wait! That's not a great way to start this off. We did see a miracle or two. Na verdade, they were actually some pretty incredible miracles!
First of all, we are teaching a man named Raimundo Nonato. He doesn't live in Tutóia proper, but about 20 minutes out of town by car. He works in construction here in the city and we ran into him while talking to a couple of rapazes in an alleyway.
The rapazes didn't want much of anything, but Nonato stuck around in the background listening our conversation. We started talking to him, learned more about his life, and now he wants to be baptized next week!
He sent us some messages over the weekend (as teaching in-person is almost impossible) saying that friends of his had offered alcohol or tried to plan outings during he church meeting on Sunday. He refused everything, saying that he has decided he now wants to follow Jesus Christ.
These are the kinds of folks that just let you know Heavenly Father is preparing people to meet you.
Our sacrament meeting wasn't very well attended with only 9 folks (the gripe has really been kicking our behind), but I'm just going to keep on praying, hoping, working, teaching, and pressing forward. If I do that, I think we'll start heading back in the right direction.
Love you all! Appreciate you all! I want you to know how much your thoughts and prayers help and mean to me! You all are so incredible and just hope that life is treating you well!
Let me know how y'all are doing! It's looking like today I might actually have time to reapons to some emails!
Love ya,
Élder Lindsay
"Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."
2 Néfi 32:20
Sometimes you've just got to put your head down, keep trekking through the you-know-what, go as far as you can, then a little bit more, and it's there that you'll start to see the miracles happening.
