To The Coast Part 2: Indefinitely

It was a great, quick, week.

Without a doubt, the highlight of the week was the opportunity we had to baptize Ana Luiza. We met her a couple of weeks ago when her cousin, one of the people we were teaching, introduced us. She read everything we invited her to read, accepted our invitation to pray and seek a confirmation, received a testimony, and was excited for her baptism yesterday. It was such a cool meeting; about half of the ward showed up and participated. The young women even sang "I am a Child of God" while the leader and her daughter played the recorder afterward.

I kind of left a cliffhanger in my last email about this transfer, but here is what is going to happen: I will go to an area on he coast - Totóia, Maranhão - where missionaries have only been for about 3 weeks. I will start my travel at 11:30 tonight and will arrive there sometime in the afternoon tomorrow. There are 10 church members there as of now (3 of whom were baptized yesterday) and they were able to get permission to meet in a schoolhouse. President had talked about this area in Zone Conference this past week in respect to how ready the people there are to receive the gospel, so you can imagine how excited I am for his. Maybe I'll be baptizing in the Atlantic Ocean!

I will be serving with Elder de Souza again, who is a workhorse, so i am very unhappy looking forward to these next few weeks. It will be a grind, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

Thanks for all of the emails that have been sent my way! It is honestly so good to hear from you all. I will continue to try to respond to as many as I can!

One last thing: I'd like to invite every one of you to watch the Worldwide General Conference of the Church on Saturday and Sunday. There will be incredible, inspired, messages and musical number from folks all around the world. It always is a spiritual high for me and I know that everyone can benefit from the messages that will be shared.

You can search "General Conference" on YouTube this Saturday, go to churchofjesuschrist.org, or watch it on your V with the BYU channel.
