"You Are Cute Like A Little Pig" -Amanda

Bom dia y'all,

Pretty cool week. We were able to have some pretty cool experiences here in Itapecuru-Mirim.

The highlight of the week was definitely yesterday when we had the opportunity to baptize four of the folks we have been teaching these last few weeks.

Raimundo Nonato's daughter and sister-in-law, Amanda and Daniele, were both baptized along with a recent-convert's friend: Casio. Carlos (aka 68-year-old Bob Marley or "Rippie" (hippie) as he's known around here) was also baptized along with them.

Saturday we spent an hour looking for a nice, not steep, scenic place for them to be baptized and found one close to the church. On our way there they started saying it wasn't a good place because there was sewage in the water there. I explained that there are several other cities upstream that had probably dumped sewage into the water before coming here to which they insisted "but it's fine because that water has been hitting the rocks for many kilometers," which is when I decided to give up and follow them to the steep, awkward, boat-filled location seen below.

It was still a super spiritual, fun, service for four people that I feel are really committed. Benedita, Raimundo's wife, had an emergency yesterday but will be baptized this coming week!

Transfer news came in... or rather never did come in, meaning we were not transferred and will be staying here in Itapecuru as companions for the next 6 weeks!

Excited to see what these next few weeks bring! We are knock, knock, knocking on being a branch's door with the folks that we have been finding. When that happens, that means will will have our own chapel, which as Bishop Vasconcelos told me in Teresina: "A chapel is the best missionary; it doesn't talk, it doesn't move, but it still invites people in."

Love you all! Take care of yourselves!
