"Ring Out The Old; Ring In The New."

Happy New Year everybody,

I had to put the date up there just because it is so odd to think that it is already 2022. While 2021 certainly had its ups and downs, I absolutely loved it, and I am certainly looking forward to what this new year will will bring!

The highlight of the week is one I'm absolutely thrilled about; Cooper has accepted a baptismal invitation, been interviewed, and now it is just a matter of time before he enters the waters of baptism! It has been so exciting to have been able to teach him since the first lesson, and I sure hope we are able to get him baptized this weekend! Even if I am in Brazil by the time he is, though, I will still be so happy for him. He is a perfect example of how Heavenly Father has been preparing souls out here for the message of Christ's restored gospel, and I am so excited to be a part of his progress closer to Him.

That was by far the most exciting news, but things have still been great down here in the UOM! While I have not yet received my travel plans from Church Travel Services (please, if you would, keep that in your prayers), I have been notified by my stake and mission presidents that my assignment from a Utah Orem missionary to a Brazil Teresina missionary will officially change on the 13th, so I figure that is a pretty good indicator of what is going to happen here in just 10 days!

Once again, Happy New Year! I love all of you, appreciate your sweet messages, and all that you do! I'm so excited to be able to hear from Elder D. Todd Christofferson this weekend at both our mission conference and one of our area's stake's conference! I'll be sure to share a quote with you all or at least some of the key takeaways.

Hoping those resolutions last a bit longer than this weekend,
Elder Lindsay

"Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light.
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old; ring in the new.
Ring, happy bells, across the snow.
The year is going; let him go.
Ring out the false; ring in the true.
The year is going; let him go.
Ring out the false; ring in the true.

Ring in the valiant men and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand.
Ring out the darkness of the land;
Ring in the Christ that is to be.
Ring out the darkness of the land;
Ring in the Christ that is to be."
