"If The World Needed An Enema..." - Sister Robins
I've got some more BIG NEWS!!! My travel plans have come in! I am officially leaving the UOM for Brazil on my birthday: January 6th!
Thank you for the thoughts, prayers, kind words, and all of the other support over the past few months!
It was a pretty funny story how I found out my travel plans had finally come; we were driving around with the Zone Leaders after going on our weekly Wal-Mart trip to get our groceries and all that good stuff. Afterward, we all stopped by the mission office in Lindon so they could grab the mail and Christmas packages for the missionaries in our Zone.
Elder Sterling said, "Didn't you need to talk to the travel office?"
My reply, "Yeah, I think I'm going to talk to Sister Kasper about it."
The ZLs, "Bro, I think we already saw your picture on the departing wall."
Me, "Don't mess with me like that."
ZLs, "No, I'm serious."
Sure enough, I go inside and see my picture among those who will so be going to Chile, Argentina, etc. I couldn't believe it. I asked Sister Busenbark - one of the housing coordinators - if it was true, and she showed me my name on the schedule of Elders and Sister heading out in the coming weeks, black and white.
Needless to say I was pretty pumped to see that.
The ZLs, "Sorry bro, we thought you knew. Your picture has been up there for like a week."
So there you have it! January 6th! Happy birthday to me!
That was the big news, and honestly by far the most exciting thing that happened this week. Besides that, we have done a lot of Christmas messages with members and met with as many bishops as we could to try to get to know both them and their wards better.
We've also been trying to hit up as many of the different ward Christmas parties as we can. That way we can meet with a bunch of folks at the same time, set up times to come share a message about Christ and His birth with them, and just be involved (the food is also a big plus, not going to lie)!
A HUGE thank you to all of you again! You are all incredible and I appreciate all of you so much! It continues to blow me away the power of prayer and the willingness of our Father in Heaven to both hear, receive, and answer them!
"Whatsoever ye shall ask in faith, being united in prayer according to my command, ye shall receive."
Doctrine and Covenants 29:6
Love you all! I look forward to hearing from ya!
Sincerely,
Elder Lindsay
P.S. Look at the link below.. Yep, that's a guy playing a saw in a ward Christmas party. You're welcome.
